The Chicago Red Hots roller derby club is a member of USA Roller Sports (USARS) and its a competitive team on the USARS Roller Derby tournament circuit. USARS is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) as the only governing body for competitive roller sports in the United States.


United States Olympic Committee (USOC)

Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, the United States Olympic Committee is the National Olympic Committee for the United States. In addition, the USOC is one of only four NOCs in the world that also serve as the National Paralympic Committee for their country. The USOC is responsible for supporting, entering and overseeing U.S. teams for the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Parapan American Games and serves as the steward of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the United States.


Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS)

The Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) is the world governing body for roller sports, including rink hockey, inline hockey, roller derby, inline speed skating and artistic roller skating. It was established in April 1924 in Montreux, Switzerland. The FIRS gathers almost 100 national federations, including countries from every continent and they are affiliated with the International Skating Union.



USA Roller Sports (USARS)

USARS is the national governing body of competitive roller sports (inline and roller skating) in the United States. It is recognized by the International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS) and the United States Olympic Committee. They have sponsored amateur roller skating competitions at the regional and national level since 1937 in figure skating, speed skating and roller hockey; and since 2011 in roller derby. USARS has been the United States representative for the International Federation of Roller Sports (FIRS) since 1972 and it exercises jurisdiction over matters pertaining to the participation of US roller skaters in international competition, including Pan American and Olympic Games participation.


USARS Roller Derby

The USARS Roller Derby Sport Committee manages the sport under the USARS umbrella and establishes the existing rules of the game. It is also responsible for the official and coach certification programs and for the organization of regional and national tournaments.
